As part of #NationalButchersWeek, we thought we’d take a look back at the installation of the Hanwell Lite wireless temperature monitoring kit at Art of Meat butchers in North Cambridge.
Established in 2006, The Art of Meat offers their customers the traditional skills of a family butcher alongside technical food design, creating gourmet products with an innovative twist using locally sourced livestock.
In order to ensure the highest level of quality for customers and meet Butchers HACCP regulations it was imperative for owner Jon West to install a system that could wirelessly monitor the temperature of his walk-in chiller and refrigerated display unit 24/7, as well as making monitoring processes more accurate, efficient and cost-effective.
We previously relied on handheld thermometers which required 2-3 manual checks per day. A major concern was what was happening out of hours? So, I’d often pop in over the weekend to make sure equipment failures hadn’t occurred.
Following the simple 5 step installation guide, Jon installed the Hanwell Lite system himself. The Hanwell Lite system gives Jon immediate access to real-time data, which is automatically stored on cloud-based software, with Jon noting:
Really first class device and easy to use. I’d recommend Notion Lite to any small retailer for peace of mind and efficiency.
The Hanwell Lite system is specifically designed to monitor fridges and freezers in the food and retail industry.
