Temperature

Food preparation, storage, cooking and display fridges

Retail owners often have a number of fridges, freezers and potentially back storage cold rooms to monitor under a HACCP system. All good food temperature monitoring safety processes use a wireless temperature monitoring system for elimination of human error resulting from manual checks.

Automated record keeping and immediate alarm notification when pre-set temperature boundaries occur enable retail owners to meet critical HACCP compliance requirements and ensure quality of stock.

Our Notion Lite system offers users a cost-effective solution to wireless food temperature monitoring for up to 10 fridges or freezers and provide a critical log of historical data for regulatory compliance. (Fridges at 2°C – 8°C, freezers with temperatures down to -20°C, -30°C & -40°C)

Temperature & Humidity

Fresh and cooked ingredients in dry storage

Humidity control is especially important when food is stored for long periods of time. It is recommended that 15% humidity or lower is maintained to avoid moisture in the air having destructive effects on the quality of the food in storage areas.

Dry storage conditions are difficult to maintain due to external temperature fluctuations which can dramatically affect humidity. Monitoring changes that occur within storage areas enable managers to ensure that humidity conditions do not exceed pre-determined boundaries for long periods of time which ultimately result in eliminating spoiled food.

The Hanwell IceSpy humidity transmitter can easily be added to your Hanwell HACCP system providing a complete solution to eliminating possible human error which could result in non-compliance.

Alarms

Critical areas and equipment

To guarantee a safe environment food retailers need to maintain a strict level of control when foods are being stored and displayed. Temperatures are monitored to keep food fresh and ensure fridges and freezers are working at the correct capacity. A secondary function is the generation of alarms which will alert the user of an open door condition or if temperatures rise above predetermined boundaries due to a number of conditions undetected by the naked eye. If a faster indication of door open is required then the use of wireless door sensors are an ideal solution. The use of door alarms has the benefit over temperature generated alarms of providing a much faster response. Also the longer a door is left open the more energy is required to restore conditions. Commercial food monitoring using these tools can be critical to food health and safety.

The Notion Lite HACCP system can also be supplied with optional door switches that can be used either on smaller fridges or larger cold room doors.
